Mycetias Audio currently have two models of speaker available, the V2 & Vulcanian. Both models are almost identical in performance & use the same components. The addition of a wave-guide fitted the the Vulcanian tweeter offers a slight increase in spl, lower distortion & limited omnidirectional radiation pattern in the lower high range. This can be useful in reducing reflections from nearby walls. The main difference is in the loading. With Vulcanian’s the tweeter is top loaded & fitted with a wave guide. The V2 tweeter is in the centre, V2’s can also be used either horizontal or vertically & can suit a bigger area when overall coverage is more important than directionality.
The crossover & box design are well tuned to complement the drivers, delivering an exceptionally transparent & well balanced frequency response, with very high efficiency. The result is they literally only need a single watt or two to deliver full tone 30hz to 20khz . Any good amplifier such as Mycetias 250A will make them sing. The rubber surround and treated paper cone woofers & silk dome tweeter with 30mm voice coil resist listening fatigue very well.
The sound is uniquely warm, natural & immersive.

LF, two 6.5” 70w drivers with coated paper cones, inverse dust cap & rubber rolled surround. Convincing well rounded full tone low bass and well balanced midrange response characteristics..
HF, single 30mm 100w silk soft dome with high-temperature voice-coil with ferro fluid, exceptionally smooth response & excellent transient performance.
Rear reflex tuned ported enclosure designed for extended low-end response.

2 way passive 2nd order 12 dB/oct crossover.

Sleek looking enclosure: Available in Natural birch plywood finish or textured tuff & durable paint finish that is scratch resistant. With x4 Rubberised pvc speaker cabinet feet fitted to the bottom of each speaker cabinet.
Heavy duty gold plated binding posts / Rear connection plate, accepts up to 6mm cable or 4mm Banana plugs.
Full face 1.5mm thick steel black powder coated or bare steel finish grill fitted as standard.
